YCNCC Research Team Receives Phase 1 Award from Bezos Earth Fund AI for Nature and Climate Grand Challenge
A YCNCC research team - led by Earth & Planetary Sciences Assistant Professor Elizabeth Yankovsky and YCNCC Data Scientist Luke Gloege, with EPS Professor Noah Planavsky - has received a Phase 1 award from the Bezos Earth Fund AI for Climate and Nature Grand Challenge .
The YCNCC project aims to leverage machine learning to bridge modeling across scales, unlocking monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) for geochemical carbon dioxide removal (CDR). The team is now in an intensive innovation sprint as they advance towards Phase II of the Challenge.
The AI for Climate and Nature Grand Challenge is a $100 million from the Bezos Earth Fund to advance innovation and opportunities for AI to help solve the critical challenges of nature loss and climate change.
