Outreach and Engagement
Getting the best available science relating to natural carbon capture solutions into the hands of policymakers, corporate sustainability leaders, practitioners, and fellow researchers is a core YCNCC priority. To this end YCNCC scientists engage a wide range of audiences, both internally through events such as YCNCC’s Fall Research Showcase, YCNCC Spring Symposium, as well as externally, by presenting research results at international conferences and in invited talks at other institutions.
In addition, YCNCC collaborates with and provides funds to Yale’s Environmental Leadership & Training Initiative (ELTI) to create educational resources and offer training focused on natural carbon capture and carbon markets. Since 2006, ELTI has provided a diverse range of field and online training programs to over 5,000 individuals involved in conservation and restoration efforts in tropical forest landscapes. ELTI works closely with Yale faculty and a global network of partners and experts to design and implement its field-based and online activities.
